Shiva's Center for the Human-Animal Bond, Inc. is a not-for-profit, tax exempt charitable organization registered under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Shiva's Center for the Human-Animal Bond was established to benefit companion animals of Santa Barbara County. The fund is designed to support four main areas of concentration:
Disaster Animal Assistance Fund Goals:
- Provide funding for safe, emergency housing and medical services to lost, abandoned and/or injured domestic and wild animals within Santa Barbara County 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including “Buddy’s Fund”;
- Provide free pet loss group counseling services at SB Hospice;
- Provide education to the veterinary medical community as well as the community at large about the benefits of the Human-Animal Bond
- Promote advanced medical veterinary programs (sponsoring interns and residents in our community) to ensure that state-of-the-art medical care remains available for animals within the Santa Barbara community.
